JULES LEBÈGUE:
A LEADING COMPANY IN ECO-DESIGN
AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
Since 2019, and at the initiative of the management, the Maison Jules Lebègue has made sustainable development its raison d’être in Bordeaux, with one goal in mind: to obtain the Exemplary Sustainable Development label in 2022.
To achieve this ambition, the company has implemented an ambitious Corporate Societal Responsibility (CSR) action plan, which involves all employees and includes:
- 20 quick-to-implement eco-initiatives that mobilize our employees.
- 10 structuring projects to transform the company, led by executives.
These sites include the following aspects:
- Conversion of our brands and partner wine producers to eco-friendly
- Partnerships with new certified organic or biodynamic winemakers
- Biodynamic certification of our house (Demeter)
Eco-design: reduction of the environmental impact of our products and implementation of a Life Cycle Analysis (LCA):
- Waste reduction and recycling
- Water and energy savings at our production site
- Redesign of our carrier specifications
- Eco-sourcing of our dry materials: light bottles, natural corks, FSC paper and cardboard, recycled and recyclable.
Preservation of biodiversity in our basin:
- Hives with honey harvesting on our site
- Insect hotels to survey the insect ecosystem in Saint-Émilion
- Shared vegetable gardens, hedgerows and wetlands.

In 2021, we won the Adelphe national eco-design trophy: a unique recognition that consolidates our expertise and know-how.
